About Richard
How long have you been a member of Rabboni Lodge?
I took my Master Mason degree in June of 1990, following in the footsteps of my father, initiated in 1947 and my great-uncle in 1912. It was the only time I ever met in lodge with my dad, who passed away the following year. Seventeen years later, my son would continue the tradition.
What brought you to Freemasonry?
I was baptized at the Roslindale Congregational Church, which was gathered in 1890. Men from the church were instrumental in forming Prospect Lodge, which was chartered in the same year and also in Roslindale. The church continued a long tradition of men belonging to both, one of whom was Bruce Marshall who recommended I join Prospect Lodge and sponsored me. I later affiliated with Rabboni Lodge to expand my close Masonic relationships.
What does being a Mason mean to you in one sentence?
Through the tenets of brotherly love, relief, and truth, Freemasonry provides a means to improve myself in all my rolls, while associating with like-minded men whom I can trust and will support me during times of uncertainty.
What do you do for work?
I am a retired software Quality Assurance Project Manager and now leverage my professional and personal experience in non-profit endeavors.
Where are you from originally?
I was born in Boston and lived in Roslindale, MA for 40 years before moving to Medfield, MA, where I still reside.
